Gen Z worker matured to work clothes as pajamas: ‘It’s giving me sleep’

A young Australian woman has gone viral after sharing her work outfit, and people online are confused and unsupportive.

Workwear has been a hot topic since Gen Zers started wearing baggy pants to the office, and matching outfits are now causing confusion.

Chloe, 29, works in Sydney’s CBD and has taken to social media to express her horror at someone mistaking her expensive workwear for pyjamas.

Standing in the middle of Martin Place in Sydney, she filmed herself showing off her very tasty set.

It was chic, trendy, it was called pajamas.

The 29-year-old professional then realized that people didn’t quite understand her fashion statement.

How did she come to this conclusion? Because someone directly asked her if she was wearing PJs.

The young worker was shocked that people weren’t vibrating her outfit. Matching sets and silk are very much on trend at the moment.

“I was like, I’m sorry. This is a silk set,” she said.

If the pajama accusation wasn’t disturbing enough, the same person asked her if her outfit cost her $65.

Chloe was once again in disbelief that anyone would think her “stunning” outfit was cheap.

“I was like you dare! This is not polyester,” she joked.

Chloe’s work outfit has certainly struck a nerve as the clip has garnered over 100,000 likes and two million views.

Interestingly, the other youngsters weren’t quite sold on Chloe’s outfit either and insisted she looked less like a corporate baddie and more like she was getting ready for bed.

There were plenty of comments echoing the same sentiment, with varying degrees of politeness about it.

“Chloe, you have to admit defeat on this one,” said one. TikTok / @chloebaradinsky

“I’ll hold your hand when I say that,” one joked.

“They work great as individual pieces, but as a set, they’re giving away bedtime,” said another.

“Girl I love your content but these look like PJs,” said another.

“Yup, you came from Peter Alexander’s dressing room straight to the office,” someone else wrote.

“Chloe, you have to admit defeat on this one,” said one.

It wasn’t all bad news.

Some people thought the dress just needed help. Someone said she could elevate the look by adding a sweater and a small black bag to make the set look less pajama-like and more stylish.

Another suggested tucking in the shirt to make it look more like a day outfit. Another advised that she should add a belt to give it more structure.

Someone else said they “loved” the look, and another said the fit was “cute,” but then added that it probably wasn’t work-appropriate.
